Business Fire Alarm Systems

Do you have a fire alarm system in your business? If not, it is important that you know the employer is responsible for the safety of their employees when it comes to fire. It is very important each business has a suitable fire alarm system in place to ensure all possible safety precautions are taken.

Under the UK fire alarm regulations, it is stated that all business premises must have an appropriate fire detection system. However, in premises which are small enough for everyone to see a fire instantly, it may not be necessary. Be sure to take make a fire risk assessment prior to deciding whether or not you should have a fire alarm.

After your fire risk assessment, if you think your business does need a fire alarm system - here's a look at just a few which may be suitable for your business.

  • Conventional Fire Alarms

Conventional business fire alarms will identify the zone the fire is in by dividing your premises into different areas. This type of fire alarm system is best for smaller businesses that are at a low risk of fire hazards.

  • Wireless Fire Alarms

This type of wireless fire alarm works using a link between the fire alarm panel and the sensors. This works best for businesses which do not want a lot of wires/cables hanging around.

  • Addressable Fire Alarms

Addressable Fire Alarms are best suited to larger workplaces which may be at a higher risk of fire. If one of the panels installed with an addressable fire alarm system activates, you will be able to see exactly where the fire is.
